I made a post on Fear Claws about how everyone should watch Skins.

You Should Watch Skins Everyone is Beautiful!!

You maybe shouldn't look at this post if you have problems with flashing lights etc., because I used gifs from this scene where all the characters are playing with sparklers. Maybe that's a really clueless thing to say, I don't know exactly which kind of images trigger people with seizure disorders and migraines, but I don't want to assume.

But otherwise you should look at it because they're GORGEOUS and I don't care if you have other plans for your life right now. I want to talk about Skins with you.

  1. Dear Amanda,

    FINE. YOU WIN.

With each post about JJ my desire to watch Skins has increased. Now I have reached the tipping point. So should I just start with generation 2 or what? And where do I get them?

    Love,
    Zoe

  3. oh um yeah just start wherever. I watched the best JJ episode, 3x07, first, and then I watched seasons 3, 4, 1, and 2, in that order (well I have the last 10 minutes of season 2 remaining). this worked out pretty good for me but I guess 1-4 is the normal way but there's no awesome autism and lesbians in 1-2.

  5. D'aww, Amanda! Everytime you post something like this is makes me want to lavish you with embarressing and sickly amounts of affection. This is just the cutest.

Skins isn't really a cool show to admit you like here in the UK, especially if you're older than the target audience. (a mix of hype backlash, misconceived notions about the show as some obnoxious hipster thing and general snobbery) so I hear it getting put down and sneered at A LOT. It's a sign of the intensity of my special interests that this always breaks my heart just a little bit!

So, basically I get the opposite rush of joy when someone "gets" the show and it means as much to them as it does me. Especially when its someone I respect as much as you.
